Cotton muslin scarf- Giovanna Feltria

Giovanna Feltria is a cotton muslin scarf. The fabric is reminiscent of old Italian shirting. It has more than a natural fit: it was designed as a man/woman accessory. 

Giovanna Feltria was born in Urbino in 1463, the third daughter of Federico da Montefeltro and Battista Sforza. She played an important role in the Duchy, as she was not only the daughter of Federico da Montefeltro, but also the mother of Francesco Maria I della Rovere. She may have been portrayed in Raphael's famous painting 'La Muta' and her portrait in Urbino represents an austere and silent melancholic female identity.
