• The celestial nature of a colour

Guado Urbino is history, nature and craftsmanship

For six thousand years man has used plants to dye. Only for a little over a century, since the discovery of artificial color, has this magical practice been lost.

Guado Urbino tells a forgotten story through a new local, handcrafted production of stoles and scarves dyed by hand with the pigment "cilestre" guado. The charm of nature and the antique are hidden in the folds of the accessories made in the Urbino workshop.

The celestial extract from the leaf

The color used for vat dyeing is a natural pigment extracted from the leaf of the woad plant (Isatis tinctoria). A rare natural color with a long history that recalls noble, pagan and sacred symbologies.
