After a life in Ticino Alessandra Ubaldi returned to her city to open an atelier of fashion accessories made with ancient techniques: «Only a few grams are extracted from 100 kilos of leaf, but the effect is truly magical».

"Alessandra Ubaldi is originally from Urbino and represents the true definition of a Renaissance woman. Owner of a multifaceted fabric dyeing laboratory in Urbino, she really does everything and has helped tell the story with a shade of blue that until recent years was essentially extinct."

Article by Francesco Pierucci, published in Il Resto del Carlino in 2023: the article tells how Alessandra Ubaldi, founder of Guado Urbino, is bringing the dyeing tradition of guado back to life, enhancing the history and territory of Urbino through production of fabrics dyed with isatis tinctoria.

On 12 February, with the conference "The woad in the ancient duchy of Urbino: from the recovery of a history to the contemporary", Urbino inaugurated the project "Blue the color of cuccagna", for Pesaro 2024, Italian capital of culture.
